WEDNESDAY Happy Valley TIPS – 3-6-2020

1. Sky Show
T: K H Ting, J: Z Purton

4. Sprint Forward
T: J Moore, J: J Moreira

11. Smiling Success
T: K H Ting, J: C Wong

Race 1 – 2200m Old Bailey Hcp (C3) 18:45pm
Selections: 8-3-2-1

Methane should appreciate the step up in distance and his form this preparation at the city course has been solid. He looks an each way play. Blastoise maps nicely has proven very consistent this term, while he too might appreciate the distance rise. Vincy ran well over the track and trip two starts back and has Zac Purton on board, while Golden Spectrum posted his best run to date last time over 1,800m and can run well.

Race 2 – 1200m Staunton Hcp (C4) 19:15pm
Selections : 6-10-9-2

This is a pretty even race with not much between a few. All Best Friends maps nicely and if he can hold the form from his last run then he should figure in the finish. Super Winner is often weak at the end of his races but is likely to lead and might take some running down. Happy Tango is drawn to get a soft run and can figure, while the drop back in trip suits Home Made.

Race 3 – 1650m Wyndham Hcp (C4) 19:45pm
Selections: 11-10-1-2

Might be a good race to bet a couple of bigger priced, value chances. Smiling Success looks the leader and providing he doesn’t go too fast as he did last time then he might take some reeling in. The step up to a mile looks a real bonus for Green Envy, along with the booking of Joao Moreira. Classic Posh maps well and although he has more weight has solid claims, while Oriental Elite is another that appears close to a win.

Race 4 – 1200m Staunton Hcp (C4) 20:15pm
Selections: 1-4-2-3

The best of the night is Sky Show. This progressive galloper is drawn well and his last win indicated there is plenty of upside. He looks clearly the one to beat. Sprint Forward drops back in trip and has the blinkers applied. Split Of A Second and Decisive Twelve have been in good form and have claims but the duo are poorly drawn, so they will need luck in running.

Race 5 – 1650m Wyndham Hcp (C4) 20:45pm
Selections: 4-10-9-11

Lightning Steed won well last time and although he has drawn wide can find the lead and might prove hard to run down again. Courageous Dragon maps to get a soft run on the back of the lead and will be popular with the market. Incanto Prepared has upside and he can inject some value in to the exotics along with Humble Steed who will need a good ride from a wide alley.

Race 6 – 1000m Shelley Hcp (C4) 21:15pm
Selections: 6-1-3-5

A very competitive race with not much separating a number of the entrants. Wild West Wing impressed in a recent trial and in his first preparation, his best run was over the track and trip. Forza Angel worked hard last time and all things considered battled pretty well and with Zac Purton taking over he looks a solid chance. Daily Delight is awkwardly drawn but remains in good form and might be a touch over the odds. Excellent Chariot impressed on his local debut against a number of these rivals and is open to improvement.

Race 7 – 1800m Cochrane Hcp (C2) 21:45pm
Selections: 5-4-10-9

Columbus County had excuses when beaten in the HK Derby and his recent trial showed he is ready to go, although this will be his first run at the city track. Super Oasis brings similar form lines and only narrowly failed last time, when the blinkers were applied for the first time. Solar Wai Wai is the value, while Helena Baby hit the line strongly last time and any market support could be telling.

Race 8 – 1650m Lyndhurst Hcp (C3) 22:15am
Selections: 9-5-1-3

A competitive race but the rise in grade and drop in weight give Rich And Lucky a good chance to go back-to-back. He may not get an easy lead this time, but could always take the box seat. Best Alliance has been racing very well without much luck and is a leading chance. Sunshine Warrior has a very good course and distance record but it wont be easy with top weight, while Flash Famous needs some luck from a wide draw.

Race 9 – 1200m Graham Hcp (C3) 22:50am
Selections: 7-10-5-6

Highland Fortune caught the eye on his last run when wide without cover and with Champion hoop Zac Purton jumping on board, he looks the one to beat. Big Fortune brings the same form lines and he might the best value option. Island Shine is racing well at this level and maps to get a soft run, while Hardly Swears has been freshened and back to Happy Valley is a clear positive.

Another great night of esports action coming up this Thursday night and into Friday morning. The Wolf is back with his best bets for the night below.

Over 2.5 Maps
Vitality v Ninjas In Pyjamas – DreamHack Masters

Ninjas in Pyjamas are entering this match with Hampus “hampus” Poser, who will replace Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson. Vitality, on the other side haven’t made a roster change since March, when they signed Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier, however, they’re still without a proper in-game leader.

Vitality and NiP last met at the ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe, where Vitality came away with a win, albeit not without facing a lot of resistance. All three maps that were played went into overtime, but it was Vitality who edged past NiP with 19-16 OT win on Mirage and 19-17 OT win on Inferno, while they lost only a 15-19 OT loss on Overpass.

Even though NiP recently changed their roster, we expect to see another close affair that is likely to stretch into three maps. Vitality should still come out ahead, but since NiP have shown great form recently, they should be able to steal at least one map from the French squad. Bet on Over 2.50 Maps.

Over 2.5 Maps
Sparking Arrow Gaming v CDEC Gaming – DreamHack Masters

Sparking Arrow Gaming lost both of their fixtures against IG (1-2) and EHOME (1-2), but they did not look particularly bad. While SAG clearly lack the ability to close out the games, they have looked very competitive against both of their opponents, which suggests they can make something happen even against one of the hottest teams of the tournament.

CDEC already defeated EHOME (2-1) and most recently Invictus Gaming (2-0). In their match against EHOME, CDEC were undoubtedly the stronger side, but the match was fairly close throughout. Meanwhile, their win over IG was very one-sided and not necessarily because CDEC are a far superior team to IG, but because IG are struggling with their online performances.

Sparking Arrow Gaming last met with CDEC at DPL-CDA Professional League Season 1 less than two weeks ago, where CDEC won 2-0. Their previous meeting that was played three days earlier ended the same way (2-0). Despite their poor H2H record against CDEC, SAG are not as bad as the odds would lead us to believe. While they can hardly compare to CDEC in terms of individual quality, SAG have carried their weight well through ESL One Birmingham and had they been a bit luckier, SAG would perhaps be sitting a bit higher up the leaderboard.

It’s hard to believe SAG can win the series, but they have shown enough for us to believe they can steal one map from CDEC and force a three-map series. Bet on SAG to force the series to go the distance!

Natus Vincere v ENCE – DreamHack Masters
Natus Vincere are coming to DreamHack following a disappointing run through ESL One: Road to RIO – CIS, a tournament in which they entered as one of the main favourites, only to fall flat on their back and finish at seventh-eighth place. Throughout the tournament, NaVi picked up wins against Espada and pro100, but lost to, Syman and Hard Legion. ENCE, on the other hand, ended their Road to Rio journey with a wins over Fnatic, Dignitas, Vitality and Copenhagen Flames, but failed to see the same success against Heretics, NiP, Complexity and Astralis. Not long ago, ENCE also won Elisa Invitational 2020 and while that is not a massive achievement on its it, it at least shows improvement, for a team that has been struggling in recent months.

ENCE will play this match with a new player Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen and although they haven’t played many games with the new addition, the team overall is in great shape. NaVi, on the other side failed to show anything throughout the online CS, and it’s difficult to imagine they can stop the surging Finns here.Bet on ENCE to win

3. Kings Shield
Sha Tin Race 4, 18:15 PM

10. Super Power Man
Sha Tin Race 6, 19:15 PM

3. Smiling City
Sha Tin Race 7, 19:45 PM

Race 1 – 1200m Shearwater Hcp (C4) 18:45pm
Selections : 7-8-11-2

Debutant Winning Brew impressed in a recent all weather trial and his work has suggested that he can land the spoils on his first race start. Little Thunder was a winner over the course and distance last time and has claims again. Coolceleb will appreciate coming back to this surface and the booking of Zac Purton is a positive. Dollar Reward is out of form but the apprentice’s claim might help.

Race 2 – 1800m Swan Hcp (C5) 19:15pm
Selections: 6-11-8-12

A low grade affair and hard to have much confidence in this one. Virtus Star has the blinkers applied and that might be key, although he is yet to compete on this surface. Curling Luxury is a proven performer on the all weather and will settle close to the pace. A couple of value runners in the race might be Old Havanna and Wicker. This is the second run down in this grade for Old Havanna who should appreciate the step up in class, while Wicker has shown patches of form that could see him competitive.

Race 3 – 1200m Shearwater Hcp (C4) 19:45pm
Selections: 7-11-4-3

Demons Rock took 25 starts to win his first race in HK but it came over the track and trip and although he is up in grade he has found a relatively weak event. He has each way claims. Thou Shall Sing has drawn awkwardly but his form on this surface has been solid and with luck in running he could win again. Stock Legend has more upside than most but tries this surface for the first time. Pearl Champion is resuming but his best form from last preparation is good enough to go close.

Race 4 – 1650m Egret Hcp (C2) 20:15pm
Selections: 3-1-4-5

Kings Shield is the best bet on the card and should be hard to beat. The Amercian-bred galloper is a specialist on this surface, will relish the move back to a mile and the booking of Zac Purton is another positive. Buddies has never missed the frame over the track and trip and arrives in good form. Mongolian King is holding his form well and should be thereabouts, along with Raging Blitzkrieg who beat him two runs back.

Race 5 – 1200m Shearwater Hcp (C4) 20:45pm
Selections: 2-7-8-10

Handsome Rebel is yet to win locally but went very close two runs back over the course and distance and with Purton booked to ride and the blinkers back on, he appeals. Skyey Supreme, Striking Mr C and Star Superior all come through the same form line and there wasn’t much between them last time. Skyey Supreme would be the pick of the trio based on that effort but he will need some luck from a wide alley.

Race 6 – 1200m Flamingo Hcp (C3) 21:15pm
Selections: 10-12-8-2

Super Power Man has won two of three career starts and although he comes up in grade the drop in weight will help his cause and he clearly has more to offer. Victory In Hand has been holding his form quite well but hasn’t competed on this surface. If he can make the most of a low draw, he will run well. Good For You is in an ageing galloper but in career best form. Refined Treasure strikes easier opposition and merits respect.

Race 7 – 1650m Spoonbill Hcp (C4) 21:45pm
Selections: 3-9-2-10

A good value play in this race with Smiling City. He worked very hard when third against key rivals last time and provided he doesn’t have to work too hard from a wide gate, then he might be able to land the spoils. Jade Fortune and Party Everyday finished alongside Smiling City last time and from good barriers and leading jockeys booked, they each have solid claims. Megatron looks the leader and he might take some reeling in.

Race 8 – 1200m Flamingo Hcp (C3) 22:15 PM
Selections: 5-2-12-10

The debut of California Concord at Happy Valley was very good and second up he might be able to post a win, although his ability to handle the surface is guesswork. Utopia Life gets the 4.5kg claim of Jerry Chau which will help his cause. Zero Hedge is well exposed and can hit the frame, while Hall Of Champ should be included in exotics.

Race 9 – 1650m Peacock Hcp (C3) 22:50 PM
Selections: 12-3-14-7

London Luckystar has had clear excuses on his last two starts and makes appeal on an each way basis. Ping Hai Treasure is fitter now and has a good record over the course and distance. He should get every chance from a nice draw. Unite Spirit showed improvement last time when placed behind Touch Of Luck and both can figure in the finish again.

the Wolf is back with a great slate of esports betting tips for Saturday night and into Sunday morning! The best bet comes via the DOTA2 ESL One Birmingham.

BEST BET – Over 2.5 Maps
TNC Predator v Geek Fam
After losing two in a row, TNC Predator will hope to see more success this Saturday, when they will meet with Geek Fam on the third day of ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Southeast Asia. TNC Predator have already lost to BOOM Esports (0-2) and Team Adroit (0-2), thus continued with their streak of poor results which began way back in November. What exactly is holding this team back from reaching their full potential is anyone’s guess, but the online format surely doesn’t help their cause. TNC will enter this match with a 4-6 record from their last five, however, they will surely fancy their chances to win something here, since they already defeated Geek Fam a month ago at BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia.

Geek Fam started their journey through ESL One Birmingham with a commanding 2-0 win over Reality Rift and a narrow loss to BOOM (1-2) on Friday. Before entering ESL One Birmingham, GF also participated at Cup: Spring Series – SEA where they hoisted the title, losing only one map out of 14 played. The competition they faced at Cyber.Bet, however, was not particularly tough so it’s hard to praise them too much for their accomplishment. Having said that, GF has at least gained some momentum, which will likely prove to be a strong tool against the struggling TNC.

Due to their poor run, TNC are entering this match as underdogs, which seems fair, however, we are not ready to bet against them just yet. This team has the needed quality to dominate almost every other team in the Dota2 scene, but it’s their poor form that prevents them from reaching their full potential. In all fairness, both teams have a chance to win here, which suggests we are in for a close bout that will see all three maps played.

1. Ares
Happy Valley Race 5, 18:45 PM

2. Golden Dash
Happy Valley Race 8, 20:15 PM

12. Nordic Warrior
Happy Valley Race 7, 21:45 PM

Race 1 – 1200m Shan Pui River Hcp (C4) 18:45pm
Selections: 8-6-4-1

This is reasonably open but Farm Bumper has been in good form and should appreciate the step up to 1,200m on the back of a few solid performances over the minimum trip. Gintoki will strip fitter and the HK maiden maps nicely for Champion hoop Zac Purton. Management Supreme is having his third career start and looks progressive, while Goodluck Goodluck gets a drop in grade and his recent trial was solid.

Race 2 – 1800m Tan Shan River Hcp (C4) 19:15pm
Selections: 7-3-9-8

Salto Olimpico doesn’t win out of turn but showed marked improvement last time and has a decent record over the course and distance. The booking of Joao Moreira is a positive. Shadow Breaker led all the way over the track and trip last time and warrants respect if able to find that form again. Dionysus Collin has proven costly for punters but is consistently running well without winning, perhaps Zac Purton can help him break his maiden status. Pretty Bauhinia can fill a minor place.

Race 3 – 1650m Tai Shing Stream Hcp (C4) 19:45pm
Selections: 6-5-10-3

Lightning Steed was very brave in defeat last time and with a more conservative ride near the lead, he should prove hard to run down. Blooming Spirit has been a model of consistency and maps nicely. Seize The Spirit should have finished closer on his last outing and is competitively weighted. Focus has run well over the track and trip his last two but has also had his chance and might be a touch of unders.

Race 4 – 1000m Kam Tin River Hcp (C3) 20:15pm
Selections: 3-2-9-5

A competitive race but Be Ready should stalk a hot pace and gets his chance to notch his first HK win. Zac Purton sticks with him and the low draw is a big plus. Explosive Witness will enjoy a similar run and he is close to a win. G Unit will appreciate coming back to the minimum trip and merits respect. Flying Genius will need some luck from a middle alley but he is a specialist over this distance.

Race 5 – 1200m Shan Pui River Hcp (C4) 20:45pm
Selections: 1-2-8-6

Ares is the best on the card. He had clear excuses on his last outing and his recent trial was outstanding. He looks better than this grade. Hero Time maps nicely and his first up win over the course and distance was sound. Lucky Quality has shown glimpses of potential while Golden Glory mixes his form but his best should see him competitive. However, Ares is the standout.

Race 6 – 1200m Shan Pui River Hcp (C4) 21:15pm
Selections: 4-8-2-5

It is hard to knock the last two wins of Simply Fluke who has been impressive since joining Douglas Whyte’s yard but a wide gate and where he settles in the run will make it a tall order to make it three in row. Both Jade Phoenix and Interstellar have solid claims. The former has very good form lines from earlier this preparation and his recent trial was solid. Interstellar displayed marked improvement with the blinkers last time and looks the leader. Harrier Jet might inject some value in to the exotics.

Race 7 – 1650m Nam Chung River Hcp (C3) 21:45pm
Selections: 12-7-11-1

A number of chances in this event and there might be a reasonable value play with Nordic Warrior. He hit the line superbly last start with some brilliant closing sections and he might be suited up to the mile. Brave King has upside and is building nicely this preparation. Chairman Lo was sound in defeat last time and shouldn’t be far away while Magnificent brings the same form.

Race 8 – 1200m Lam Tsuen River Hcp (C3) 22:15am
Selections: 2-8-9-1

Golden Dash looks the one to beat here. The booking of Zac Purton and his third-up profile and both positives and he can turn the tables of California Rad who beat him last time. What A Legend had clear excuses last time and with better luck could make it interesting. The Runner is a progressive galloper who rises in grade but drops in weight. Californiadeepshot is another that has had excuses and probably gets a softer run here.

Race 9 – 1200m Ho Chung River Hcp (C2) 22:50am
Selections: 8-4-1-7

A tough race with many genuine contenders. Amazing Star will be popular in the market given he has won 4 of 5 this season and his best rates very well. However, conceding quite a bit of weight to the likes of Larson and This Is Class will not be easy. Larson is in a purple patch of form and 1,200m poses no issues. This Is Class has won three of four this term and also has upside. If Shining Gem isn’t too far off them then he too can make his presence felt.
